Keeping Client PCs Static

To ensure uninterrupted access and prevent duplicate entries in the client list, we strongly recommend keeping client PCs as static as possible. This helps avoid unnecessary resets and ensures smooth operation of the CNC Simulator Pro licensing system.

Key Guidelines:

  • Always connect to the Internet using the same method (e.g., via a consistent Wi-Fi network or, preferably, an Ethernet connection).

  • Avoid frequent hardware modifications (such as replacing network adapters, hard drives, or motherboards), as these changes may alter the PC's fingerprint, leading to potential licensing issues.

  • If using laptops, avoid frequent docking/undocking or switching between wired and wireless networks, as this can affect how the fingerprint is generated.

  • For classroom environments, we strongly recommend using LAN (Ethernet) connections instead of Wi-Fi to ensure a stable Internet connection. This helps avoid connectivity-related licensing disruptions.

  • Avoid renaming computers frequently, as this can sometimes cause inconsistencies in license tracking.

Software Stability and Crashes

If the software crashes, follow these best practices before restarting the simulator:

  1. Update graphics drivers (if not already up to date) to prevent potential rendering issues.

  2. Reboot the computer after a crash. This ensures that all processes are correctly reset and prevents multiple instances of CNC Simulator Pro from running in the background, which could confuse our licensing system.

  3. Check for unnecessary background programs that may interfere with the simulator's performance, such as excessive security software, virtualization tools, or auto-updating programs.

Managing License Clients (Seats/Computers)

Each license has a fixed number of seats (computers) it can be used on. If you run out of available clients due to hardware replacements or other changes, you can reset your license client list up to four times per year using the License Manager.

If you find that four resets per year are not enough for your needs, we encourage you to consider expanding your seat count by contacting our sales team at sales@cncsimulator.info. This ensures you have enough seats to accommodate future changes without interruptions.

Virtual Machines (VMs) – Not Supported

The use of virtual machines (VMs) is not supported for CNC Simulator Pro licensing. Due to how virtualization software works, hardware fingerprints can change frequently, causing licensing conflicts. Additionally:

  • Using VMs to bypass licensing restrictions is considered abuse and may result in a blocked license.

  • If you require multiple installations, always use physical PCs for stable license management.

By following these recommendations, you can ensure a stable, uninterrupted experience while using CNC Simulator Pro. If you experience persistent licensing issues, please contact our support team for assistance.
