I get a virus warning when I try to download, install, or run the program. Why?

Short answer: It’s almost always a false positive or a reputation warning, especially right after we ship a new build. Our installers and executables are digitally signed by Zyntaxis SRL and we do not bundle adware or any third‑party junk.

Important: A “Windows protected your PC” banner is SmartScreen reputation, not a virus. Antivirus detections are different. See below for both cases.

Why this happens

  • New file = low prevalence. When we publish a fresh version or stub, SmartScreen and some AVs haven’t “seen it in the wild” yet.

  • Heuristics. Installers, packers, and updaters sometimes look suspicious to behavioral engines even when they’re clean.

  • Corporate security policies. Some environments flag all unsigned/unknown or internet‑downloaded files by default.

Is it safe?

We build and ship from a controlled environment and sign our binaries. You can verify this yourself:

Verify the digital signature (Windows)

  1. Right‑click the file → PropertiesDigital Signatures.

  2. Select the signature and click Details.

  3. Signer: Zyntaxis SRL
    Timestamp: valid
Certificate status: “This digital signature is OK.”

If the signature isn’t present or looks invalid, do not run the file and contact support.

If you see SmartScreen: “Windows protected your PC”

This is a Microsoft reputation warning (not a malware detection) that appears for new or rarely‑downloaded files.

  • Click More info → confirm the Publisher = Zyntaxis SRL → click Run anyway.

  • If the publisher isn’t Zyntaxis SRL, stop and contact us.

Reputation improves automatically as more users install the signed build.

If your antivirus quarantines or blocks the installer/app

This is likely a false positive.

  1. Restore/Allow the file in your AV (instructions vary by vendor).

  2. Submit a false‑positive report to your AV vendor (they usually fix it in the next definitions update).

  3. Tell us the product name and exact detection label so we can report it too.

We don’t recommend disabling protection globally. If needed, temporarily exclude the installer file only while installing—then re‑enable protection immediately afterward.

What to send us so we can help fast

Please email support@cncsimulator.com with:

  • Screenshot of the warning (or the exact detection name and AV product/version).

  • The file name + version you downloaded.

  • Your Windows version (e.g., Windows 11 23H2) and whether this is a work or home PC.

We’ll contact the vendor and, if needed, rebuild/resign to accelerate reputation.

Notes about specific vendors (including ESET)

Different vendors handle submissions differently and some are stricter with new installers. If you use ESET (or any vendor) and receive a false positive:

  • Use their false‑positive submission form from the product or website.

  • Add the file to quarantine restore/allow list only if you trust the verified Zyntaxis SRL signature.

  • There’s no need to switch antivirus; false positives are typically cleared within a routine definitions update once reported.

Stay safe

  • Only download from our official site/links.

  • Always verify the digital signature (Zyntaxis SRL).

  • Never ignore warnings for unsigned files claiming to be our product—contact us first.

Bottom line: False positives and reputation prompts can happen with fresh releases. Verifying the signature and reporting the issue helps both you and the community get past it quickly.
